Opps

Haha I was supposedly to post about my UK trip but I gave up. I haven't even sort out my pictures -_-

Anyway I'll TRY to post about my BKK trip that I went with Louis :)

Sunday 22 June 2014

Wenshy in UK 2 (10-11/06)

Second day is an exciting day for me, you'll know why below :)

First stop, platform 9 and three-quarter!!!!
It was approximately 15 minute walk from our hostel.
On the way there,

We saw this really really pretty hotel, I want to stay here when I'm in London next time LOL

The St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel
(Confirm expensive)

Right beside if is the King Cross Station. At this station is where you can take the train to other cities in UK, and of course, to Hogwarts ;)

This made me go crayyyyyy #harrypotterforever

I only got this key ring for myself since I already have the tshirt and scarf and wand from the HP exhibition at MBS previously where I spent almost 300$ LOL

After idk how long (my uncle had coffee and sushi upstairs while waiting for us, and when he was done, we weren't ready yet LOL)

Next, under my auntie's must-visit list is the British Museum

On the way, I bought a basket of cherries at only 1pound!? (Approx. $2) so cheap and sweet hehe, my fave.

Finally the British Museum! It's a bearable walking distance too....... About 20 minutes if I remember correctly.

This museum is hugeeeeeeee. Has tons of exhibits which they display on a rotational basis. The "specials" were the viking exhibits when we were there. And the most popular, the Egypt section - mummified humans and animals and organs, their tombs etcetc. You can actually spend an entire day there and not be done with all the exhibits.

Next, lunch @ the Fish Face
In England, we got to have fish & chips!

We had cod, haddock and calamari. Was a bit tasteless for me..... Until I spied with my little eyes, how the British beside me were having their fish..... Apparently, they like drizzling vinegar on their fish! As a vinegar lover, definitely a YES for me.

After lunch, we strolled (and got lost along the way) to Covent Garden. It's about 2-3 stations away. A kind sa-mun uncle (or ticketing officer guy) led us there.

Covent Garden is kinda like............ a nice place that I don't know how to describe and has no pictures of. There's just a lot of good branded shops around here and there. There's also a market in the centre of the entire square. Didn't really explore the inside.

And.......... I met Chantel in London!! Haha, as if meeting in Singapore wasn't enough :)

Haha Chantel and her SGD20 Godiva chocolate coated strawberries (only 4-5 pieces).

We then went to Oxford Circus to shop.

Very pretty street, I like how the buildings curve, feels like we're in some other world. I don't know how to describe it with my lousy and limited vocab LOL

Hairpyyyyyy us

At Topshop!

The size of this outlet is MADNESS. It's the size of the topshop at Knightsbridge, only 3 times bigger. Miss Selfridge, Dorothy Perkins are connected too, as well as some other random vintage expensive brands.

Unfortunately the photo booth isn't free like the one in Korea's Stylenanda. It costs 3pounds and the machine sucks. Takes without any warning or display, so we wasted 3 pounds staring down at the screen, and another 3pounds for the above :)

We went to Burgers & Lobsters for dinner! Chantel already had this before.
It's also walking distance but I've no idea where this is, I just follow blindly.
There're only two branches in London if I'm not wrong, this is highly recommended!!!!  *salivating*

They don't exactly have a food menu since they only serve two dishes, literally burgers and lobsters. You can choose to have your lobsters steamed or grilled, and how well you want your burgers to be done, and the choice of additional cheese and bacon.

I had their grilled lobsters and it was OMGGGGG, damn good. The salad was awesome too and their fries. Thumbs up! The burger was fab too.

I think you can't really see the size of the lobster from my pic but it's really quite big, and this is only the 'smaller' one.

It's so good I want to franchise it in Singapore hahaha. Confirm earn a lot money.

Happy us in our bibs. (I look a little too happy)

Poor me, I had gum ache on my left side and ulcers on my right -_-

After dinner and a short rest at the apartment, we (Chantel + her 2 cousins) went to drink at the oldest restaurant in London, it's called Rules, and it started operations in 1798!
The place looks really posh and classy, with a bit of the olden days vibe to it.
4 of us shared 5 drinks - 2 cocktails and 3 other drinks that her cousin sorta customized himself. All he said to the waiter sounded like alien to me. The total bill came up to like SGD150+ or something. Pricey but nice environment and nice drinks and again, everything is expensive in UK.
Went back early cause no where else was opened and Chantel couldn't enter those that were opened haha underaged xmm.

Third and final day in London :(
Had brunch at Bill's

Pretty interior :)

With her mummy aka my godma

While waiting for food, we went outside for a walk plus some photo snapping

I like how the shops here are kinda individual, rather than all put together in a shopping mall.

We spotted a candy van!

Haha I also want to own a candy van

Here's our food:

We shared Bill's breakfast with additional fried potato (that yellow thing) and buttermilk pancakes with maple and fruits. Also had peach + mint tea and strawberry banana shake. Yummmmmmm.
The food isn't WOW FANTASTIC but not bad luh. Good enough for me to want to come back again. :)
There're a few outlets around London. Again, I'm not sure where this is except that it's walking distance from Covent Garden haha

Afterwards, we went to walk walk shop shop (at idk where again sigh). We actually wanted to go another place, had to cab cause we were kinda behind time BUT the cabbies were like having a strike or something!? All of them just stop in one line, blocking all the roads, then they just come out of their cabs and chit chat, laugh laugh all -_-

Anyway on our way shopping, we bought some cupcakes from Hummingbird.

I bought 3 flavors -
1) Carrot cake (just the regular)
2) Maltesers (really the actual chocolate)
3) White Bottom (choc plus cheesecake)

Can't remember where I took this at haha but quite pretty la

In the evening, I went back to meet my auntie and my cousin cause we were catching a musical, Charlie & the Chocolate Factory!

Ran to meet them cause I was late and 怕被骂 haha. All the stuff heavy die me -_-

Here in UK, each musical has it's own theatre and probably stays there for a good 10 years or more??

Look at the ceiling, don't know how many hundred years it probaby is?

First scene! Quite blurry haha.

Our tickets costs 25pounds each, we got it just a day before the musical (didn't have to book online).

Of course you have to get some Wonka chocolates.

Bought another bar for greedy Eugenia whom I happened to be texting at the same time haha.
But it was bloody hell SGD7 each!? Damn ripoff. (Then I saw them being sold at 1pound at some other city and 50pence at another city -_-)

"Don't have golden ticket la" LOL

After the musical, we took the red London bus back to our hostel. It was our last night there in London :(

((I actually blogged on the plane but published only now)I'm on the plane blogging at 4am London time, can't sleep a wink -_- 7 more hours to go, good luck to me)
